Help Out

The Thulani effort has just moved to its own independent non-profit charity  Thulani Senior German Shepherd Rescue, Inc. (TSGSR)  We intend to continue the work of the Thulani Program, but are excited to plan for expanding our reach and working to change attitudes nationally regarding adopting VERY OLD DOGS.  We also hope to encourage other people to start Thulani-like programs in their areas, as we have done in California and now in Peoria, IL with ThulaniMidWest.  And we still are working to have the resources to save 100 dogs annually from California and nearby surrounding areas–the target that we have determined we have to reach if we are to prevent any Thulani-like dogs from dying prematurely in a shelter.

So we need to fill many positions with committed, energetic, self-motivated people.  Some positions we are not even aware of at this time.  We are based in the San Francisco By Region, but many positions could be filled by people remote from the SF area.   If you are intrigued by the prospect of helping to build the TSGSR into a regional force for the benefit of German Shepherds needing hospice sanctuary care, or if you simply want more information about the Thulani, please contact me directly at   Robert@ThulaniSeniorGSR.org.  Tell us what you are good at and what you want to do.  If you love old dogs, and believe they deserve to live out their golden years in love and comfort, we want you!  The work is not always easy or pleasant, but the rewards can be enormous.

First and foremost, we need adopters willing to take in Thulani Dogs for the remainder of their natural lives.  The other types of positions that we are looking to fill include:
•    Steering committee members
•    Dog procurement
⁃–   locating, contacting, and evaluating potential Thulani Dogs at
⁃—–   shelters
⁃—-    vet hospitals
⁃—-    social media
⁃—–   others
•    Foster recruitment and support/maintenance
•    Fund raising
⁃–    individual
⁃–    corporate
⁃–     grant-writing
•    Social media exposure
•    Press relations/publicity
•    Outreach

and much, much more.
