As you walk through the shelter I’m in the back hall,
Please take time to visit me, very few come to call.
Yes, these old eyes are sad and my muzzle is grey,
And my old wobbly legs make it difficult to play.
My coat may be matted, and I’m just skin and bones,
But, still, I deserve a loving place to call ‘home’.
Look at me! See me! Judge me not by my parts,
And you’ll see the best thing is my brave, loving heart.
