THULANI DOG, LADY T., IS HELPING OTHERS
Lady T. is a wonderful senior German Shepherd who was left at the Carson Shelter in Los Angeles because she has mammary tumors. She is a happy, energetic dog that has a lot of life left to her even though her cancer has spread widely enough that surgery is not an option.
But Lady hit the jackpot through the Thulani Program when Eve and her husband said they would adopt her and give her a great final chapter. Eve is a breast cancer survivor, and so was particularly interested in Lady. Lady now lives in the Sierran foothills east of Chico, along with a fur-brother GSD, three little pooches, some cats and lots of forest wildlife.
Eve, her husband, her granddaughter, and Lady T. recently participated in th Making Strides Breast Cancer walk and here is what she reports:
“Bob, here are some photos of us going to the Making Strides Breast Cancer walk. Lady’s T shirt says “LIVING WITH BREAST CANCER” and she was the hit of the walk. I was the 2nd to the last group and as we came into the finish line, the announcer stated ” see the German Sherpherd, she has breast cancer too” and after that everyone wanted their picture taken with her. She was great with all the people. Hope you like the pictures – take care – Eve”.
Thank you Eve and thank you Lady T—you have done us proud.
