Tragen T.: The Bear
Tragen T., another German Shepherd ‘bear’, has joined us in the Thulani Program from his shelter existence in southern California (thanks again, Karen). He was not named, so we sought a name that would acknowledge his ursinus propensities, but only came close. Nevertheless, we like the name so Tragen it is.
Tragen T. was picked up as a stray in the LA basin, along with a husky buddy. He is a gentle 10 year old boy who is easy going, gets along well with dogs, likes people, and seems quietly confident.
He rides well in the car, goes readily into a crate where he settles nicely, and walks reasonable well on lead.
Tragen is a happy boy who really gives his tail a workout when people come to see him. He is anxious to go for a walk at any time, and he relishes the sights and smells when he is out.
Tragen T. is part of our Thulani Program, and as such, he will live out the quality life he has left either as an adopted dog or a permanent hospice dog. If you are interested in learning more about Tragen T. or possibly fostering him, please contact Bob at Thulanidogs@gsrnc.org
Tragen is a very handsome dog, I immediately felt love for him (along with the other dogs of course!)
I would love to be a foster home for him or any other older dogs that need a nice, quiet country living home. I live at the end of a dirt road in San Luis Obispo County – absolute heaven! Fenced yard, but actually a very safe neighborhood with deer, raccoons, horses next door, wild turkey – you get the picture. (In other words, I rarely/never close the gate…) I work Monday thru Thursday, I am home most of the time other than when working. I have two rescue cats, pretty tolerant of dogs or other animals that appear on our doorstep. Unfortunately I am not wealthy. Vet bills would be very tough for me to handle, even though my ex-husband is a veterinarian.
Anyway, I am very interested but don’t know how the “transaction” works with taking in Tragen T. He also would be GREAT protection for me.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much and what a wonderful service you provide!
